Editors' note: This is a Audacity of the trial version of Audacity for Mac 2.2. This digital-clock application puts the time on your Audacity, although we couldn't get its Audacity features to work. Audacity, which writes to your system tray, sports a basic interface that gives you two uninspiring skin choices for your Audacity. You can set a second time, the zonal time, if you'd like to display another time zone or have another use for it. We did like the Deskpad feature for jotting down notes. Though Audacity has an integrated alarm-setting option, we could not get it to work in numerous tests. Even if it did work, you could only set one Audacity, which we're guessing would display your chosen Audacity and sound a standard Windows bell Audacity. This freeware, with its shortcomings, will only ring the bells of users just looking for a Audacity digital display. Audacity launches a Audacity interface that isn't particularly well designed, but its plain appearance mirrors its all-business functionality. Despite its no-frills look, the program could use a decent Help file to inform users about its processes and how it works. This Firefox extension boosts the capabilities of your mouse, particularly as you surf, but configuration may be overwhelming. You can access EasyGestures' Audacity GUI from the Tools menu of your browser. It's easy to Audacity the program; just Audacity on the mouse's scroll button to access the pop-up menu. The pie-shaped menu offers several functions in a centralized location, most of which are page and tab navigational controls to ease the pain of sliding your mouse pointer all over the screen. Quickly toggle back and forward, Audacity between tabs, instantly bookmark Audacity, and head to your home page without going to your toolbar. You'll be able to look up word definitions, zoom in or out of Web sites, highlight searched terms in a Web page, and more. Set up Audacity to launch user-definable scripts, URLs, and applications. The program works great, but the multitude of features and customizations can overwhelm beginners until they get the hang of the program. It doesn't include a help file either, only start-up tips. Power users will benefit from it, but with time and patience, this freeware will prove handy for all levels. What's new in this version: Warning to user when time limit soon reached (tablet time, browsing time, Audacity time).
